AI-2020-ADVANCED AI
Course Description: Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing
The student will require to get a Microsoft Azure Account to execute some labs.
This course offers a comprehensive exploration of computer vision and natural language processing (NLP), two fundamental areas of artificial intelligence. Students will gain a solid foundation in both fields, mastering the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications through hands-on experience with industry-leading cloud platforms.
The course begins by introducing the fundamentals of computer vision, including image processing techniques and an overview of cloud-based computer vision APIs. Building on this foundation, students will delve into advanced computer vision topics such as object detection, image segmentation, and generative models.
The second half of the course focuses on NLP, covering essential concepts, text preprocessing, and the utilization of NLP APIs. Students will explore state-of-the-art models like Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Transformers and apply their knowledge to tasks such as sentiment analysis, text classification, and named entity recognition.
The course culminates with a deep dive into large language models (LLMs), their fine-tuning, and the ethical implications of AI. This exploration provides students with valuable insights into the latest trends and future directions in the field.
Throughout the course, we prioritize practical learning through hands-on exercises and projects using Google Cloud Vision API and Google Cloud Natural Language API. This approach ensures that by the end of the course, students will be well-prepared to apply computer vision and NLP techniques to real-world problems and contribute to the advancement of AI.
